Im finally back to it, after a painful 2 weeks recovering from my Appendix removal I headed to Joes Valley for three days.

Although my stomach was still hurting I managed to climb fairly well.
Here is my Tick list,

Im very happy with how I climbed considering the situation.

Im now back in Boulder and im heading out to RMNP in the morning.
I have not been able to climb at the park yet as the snow is still melting, but some keen people have been digging out the snow covered boulders so im hoping there will be stuff to climb on.

Hospital Again
Once again I'm back in the USA and I'm in a Hospital.
Yesterday while out at the Boulders I had some strong pains in my stomach.
After trying to deal with the pain for a few hours we decided to head back to the car so I could go and chill on a couch. By the time I made it back to the car the pain had increased so we headed straight to the hospital.

When I arrived at the hospital I was almost unable to walk.
The Dr's had one look at me and told me I needed to go under the Knife ASAP.
My Appendix needed to come out.
I was rushed to the operating table and before I knew it I was waking up in the recovery room, minus my appendix.
I spent the night in Hospital and headed home the next day.
Im now at home and Im in a fair bit of pain still.
The Dr told me a should be able to start gently climbing again in another week or two and within 3 weeks I should be ok to start training again.

Im getting used to this shit now.
I start to get strong again only to find myself in hospital with another set back.
Here's hopping times get better.

US and of A
So im back in Boulder from the Earth Treks comp.
The Comp was off the hook one of the biggest comps I have ever been in.
I thought I qualified in 6th place going into the semi's but the scores got messed up which ment I was in 5th so I was happy with that.
In the semis I stuffed up big time.
Problem number one I got my ass handed to me, it just came down to me being useless at the style of boulder problem (sloppers on a low angle).
Problem number 2, I topped out on
Problem number 3, I should have topped out but my heel slipped on a heel hook, I tried again but I was completely blown, my arms where gased out.
Problem 4, was just hard, not one person came close to completing it.
So in the end I came in 9th place,
I was not so happy.
my goal was to come in the top 10 for this comp. I know now that I can win a comp like this and I need to set my goals a little high for the next comp.
I know I should be really happy with how I went as I have only trully been able to start pulling down hard 4 months ago since my shoulder surgery and this was my first big comp in over a year but im a little dissapointed.

Boulder is a great place to be a climber. The climbing gyms are really good and there are so many people keen on climbing.
It was strange for me to go into a super market to see climbing magazines at the check out.

There is so much good rock climbing around Boulder and im really keen to get out on the pebbles,
although for now im really keen to get stronger so I have been hitting the plastic lots.

Heading Off
A lot has happened in my life of late.
Personal things that I don't wish to write about over the internet. Since I arrived back in Oz a month ago now my life has taken some big turns. I hope its for the best for everyone concerned.
Once again I have some new plans, I'm heading back to the US and hopefully this time it will be for a long time. I have been living at the Bloc climbing gym and I have been training like a headless chicken with my mate's Hugo and Edwards. I have been doing a new training plan that my mate Christian Core wrote for me and I am getting stronger and stronger every week.

This Saturday I fly out of Australia to the US and ill be heading straight to Boulder, Colorado.

There has been a lot of Australians go overseas and achieve some great things, Garth Miller, Sam Edwards, Saxon Johns, Sam Berry, Robbie Lebretton, The Cossey brothers the list goes on........
We have some great climbers in Australia, but Australians can achieve so much more in the climbing world. If the sport had more funding in Oz and athletes where given more support in the form of sponsorship etc.
Climbing In Oz is great but it seems there is just not enough people pushing the sport forward. The competition seen is almost non existent and the people who are out there trying to develop new areas are to small an army.
I'm heading off to the US for many reasons but one reason im heading off to the US is to try and become a professional climber.
Not only do I want to make a name for myself in climbing but I want to show other young Australian climbers that if they want to make it in this amazing sport they can do it.

So as the song goes, I'm leaving on a jet plane and I don't know when ill be coming back again.
