BiShOp
Last night out of the blue i decided to go to America to go climbing in Bishop. I was going to go in March but i changed my mind and i'm going to leave in 4 days hahaha crazy. I think i'll be spending most of my time in Bishop. It's gonna be ace!

I'm flying into San Fran then me and my mate Will are punching out to Bishop on the 4th of jan. I'm in a bit of a daze at the momment. It's gonna be great to get out of this heat here in Australia. I have been trying to go out climbing here in Oz but it's been so hot it's hard to get motivated. I just spoke to my mate Dave who is in Bishop at the momment and he said it's super chilli.

On another note my shoulder is feeling good again it's not 100% but it's good enough to start pulling down on. It will be intresting to see how it goes on the rocks in Bishop. I don't plan on doing anything super hard in Bishop but i'll give some things a bloody good go.
I'll get some video and photos up as soon as i'm in Bishop.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Lovely encouraging emails
Lovely encouraging emails I was lucky enough to be greeted with an email this morning by a person who is too much of a pussy to put their name to it and instead put Reinhold Shrier (a great Austrian climber) name on it as the sender.

The pussy wrote:

I cannot believe how one minute you talk about climbing and act like a total baby because of a set back. You would have to be one of the most vain climbers that Australia has ever bred, and it is a shame that people like you, who think the entire world revolves around your ticks.
Many climbers have set backs, and even the world's best do to but they don't whine about it like you have on your website.
It is sad that the climbers like Louise Shepard, Mike Law and others who went about their climbing like normal people, and didn't have to boast about their ticks like you have. But then again, you seem to live in your little world being idolized by young gym climbers, and boasting about doing a V16, just one. Do you see or hear of people like Sam Edwards or Paul W boasting about their hard ticks...no!. In fact it is those good guys whole live in obscurity in Tasmania, etc that give climbing a good name.
I admire any person that works hard towards goals, but you are so caught up in yourself, that you don't make a very good ambassador for climbing. maybe you need to read your posts, complaining about Surgeons and Doctors that don't give you what you want. Seriously Chris, you need a reality check, because all you are doing is giving climbing a bad name. I don't see Nalle, or Daniel or Paul R saying anything like you. Next thing you will be on TV with your own reality show. Stop making "you" so important, and give climbing and bouldering a good and respectable leader, not a self centered wanna be. You should be thankful that you are able to climb, get free healthcare and all those things. If you really care so much about climbing, then do more work to keep the Balkans open and accessable. maybe you need to watch King Lines a few more times and see how the "humble" go about their work. When was the last time you heard Chris big note himself. Or maybe you should change your last name to Graham.
Sorry, but you really need a reality check.

My response:

Man i work my ass off to be the best climber i can be, climbing is my life and to fuck my shoulder when im enjoying my climbing/life the most on my dream trip that i had worked my ass off to pay for i think its fair to be a little bit upset.
I know im not the best climber in the world and i know there are hundreds of people who are better than me at climbing, i put allot of effort into being the best climber i can be and thats what makes me happy.
My website is for those who wish to support me and for those who simply love climbing. I hope that my website can make others happy or inspire others to get out climbing.
If you dont like what i put on my website then why the fuck do you read it?
If you had not already noticed the name of my website is chriswebbparson.com Vain? yes it is a little vain but my dream is to be a professional climber and being as im not as talented a climber as people like Chris Sharma I have to do a bit of self promotion.

Thanks for the kind words Pussy.

L' Homme Obu
Today I climbed L’homme Obu V10, Im really happy to have climbed this problem, it’s the hardest thing I have climbed since my surgery.
My shoulder is still weak but I can hang from a chin up bar with one arm now. Its crazy how hard I can climb even though it’s a real effort to hang from a chin up bar for more than 10 seconds.

Now that I have been bouldering for a month its time a hit the campus board to get my arms stronger and get my shoulder used to holding my body weight, It will be a while before 1-5-9 is possible again.

I got a few days off work now and I wouldn’t mind going out to look for some new boulders but its bloody hot here now and im sure the snakes will be waiting for a tasty meal “Me” so I might just head to the coast for a surf .

I still have a long way to go with getting my shoulder back to A1 but ill get their CHIN UP.

So Hot
It’s so hot, it’s almost 40 degrees here in Sydney and it’s not so fun.
Summer is definitely here and that means the climbing is slowing down.

I went for a ride yesterday and I nearly died the heat is just too much.
If my shoulder were a bit stronger I would be off to a cooler destination (out of Australia) today but as my shoulder is still on the mend I’m stuck in this crazy heat.

I’m off to the climbing gym soon for some training even though I might die from heat stroke. I am really pushing my shoulder and I’m determined to get strong again.
My shoulder is definitely getting stronger and I’m able to pull on my arm a lot more now. I have been getting frustrated with my shoulder but I just worked out it’s only been 7 months since my surgery so I am doing really well. I have only been climbing for just over 1 month since having 7 months off from climbing and 6 months of not even lifting over 5kg.

I have so many plans in my head, I want to try and finish my trip off that I started at the beginning of this year.
I want to start in USA and head to Hueco (where I injured my shoulder) then I want to spend some time in Bishop and RMNP and maybe stay in San Fran with my mate Will then head off to Europe and climb in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Spain and maybe England.
Then I plan on heading to South Africa for the Rocklands.

I’m working like a mad man to save money so I can do this trip but I think for this trip I’ll have to work on the road while I’m travelling.

Grampians Bouldering Guide
Dave Pearson and me have finally finished the Grampians Bouldering Guide.
The Guide is at the printers now and it should be out in late January.
We were trying to get it finished before Christmas so the fat man in the red PJ’s could put one in your Christmas stocking but we wanted this book to be perfect so we spent a little bit longer working on it to make it a great product.
